Missed the 2026 Hwy 62 Art Tours? The Sculpture Garden Is Open All Year
The 2026 Hwy 62 Open Studio Art Tours brought visitors into studios across the Morongo Basin over three October weekends. This was the event’s 25th year, with 227 artists opening 141 studios from Joshua Tree to Twentynine Palms.
Thank you to everyone who stopped by the Simi Dabah Sculpture Garden during the tours.
These were the first Art Tours since Simi passed away in May. Seeing so many people walk through the garden he built meant a great deal to all of us.
If you missed it, or you came and want to see more, here’s the good news. You don’t have to wait until next October.
The garden is open all year
The Simi Dabah Sculpture Garden is open Saturdays, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., from September 1 through May 31. In summer, visits are by appointment.
That means the cooler months, the best time to be outside in the high desert, are wide open. November through April brings mild days and clear light, ideal for walking among more than 350 welded steel sculptures on 8.5 acres.

Why it’s worth a second trip
The tours move fast. Many visitors see a dozen studios in a weekend and only have a few minutes at each stop. The garden rewards a slower pace.
The sculptures are made from salvaged industrial steel, and most are left to weather. The rust shifts color with the time of day and the season. A piece you saw on a bright October afternoon will look different on a cool winter morning.
