Sculpture sales were at an all time high in 2022 and many non profits throughout Southern California received monetary donations and others were gifted sculptures that Public non profits placed on their property. $26,000.00 was donated to15 local Morongo Basin non profits and 13 sculptures valued at over $15,000.00 were donated to three qualifying organizations. College of the Canyons in Santa Clarita received 10 of the sculptures to go with the 13 they already have placed on their campus.
Over the years, first Simi and Julie Dabah and then the Sim Dabah Sculpture Foundation which was created in 2015 has donated over $1,000,000.00 between sculpture donations and cash donations. The sculptures have found their way all over the Western states but the majority by far of cash donations have been right here in the Morongo Basin.
It is all made possible by sales of Sculptures. There are 487 sculptures left on the Joshua Tree site and all are for sale. Simi created just over 2000 sculptures since 1970 he officially retired from sculpture making in 2018. Julie has cataloged with photos and inventory numbers 1950 of those sculptures a few got away before they met.
